Right time to join coaching inst. for CAT 2010

Hi evryone,
I am currently doing BE.I will become eligible for appearing for CAT 2010.
Should I join coaching inst. now or join afterwards?
Also wanted to which is good inst. in Delhi and which branch? And I have one more confusion whether to do mba as a fresher or after some work exp.?
Please help! Seniors please share your experience.

First of all Welcome to TestFunda,

Please mention in which year you are right now in BE, a person is eligible to write CAT if he is in final year or at the time of June next year must have completed his grad..i.e if you are in 7th sem at the time of writing CAT you are eligible for it, your percentage should also be more than 50%

I will suggest you can start preparing early if you have time, because you will get lot of time then...and in Delhi there are many good instis..just reaserch otherwise since you have lot of time you can try testFunda demo course and if you like you can buy the full course..

MBA as a fresher and wrokex both have iths cons and pros..lets not go into them right now..prepare well for CAT right now, other thinsg can be taken care of later

Hi,

I think the best judge can be you yourself. Take the CAT 2008 and CAT 2007 tests, and check where you stand. How much do u think you will need to cover. If you think its a lot, you can join a 2 year program or else a one year program.

I personally feel classroom is not required, unless you can't understand it from the course materials, which happens with many students, due to the lack of being in touch with maths, or being new to english etc.

So, you have to judge for yourself, you fall under which categories. Everyone needs a different prescription

Now that you have decided that you want to sit for CAT 2010,then let me tell you,dont wait for a right time.there is no rite time as such.it all depends on your cpability. i have heard people who have cracked CAT prepared seriously for 8-6 months.where as many taking up classes for more than 10 months couldnt secure good rank..so all depends on how much effort you put and how well you understand each concept.

Apart from all this i would still suggest you to start your coaching September onwards.Then you shall have a complete one year to prepare yourself for BELLING THE CAT!!!
Some institutions like IMS,TIME,ERUDITE provide neccesary coaching..search about them on net and get into the instituion as apropriate to you.

I am presently in 3rd yr of Computer engineering(CSE).Hence I would be eligible for CAT 2010.I wanted to know which one-IMS or TIME would be better to join.
Also I am active Testfunda user and have already gone through the demo courseware which was really excellent.
My question is-if i join either of the above coaching institute now then I won't be able to take Testfunda's online course as doing both will really be hectic for me.And it is actually not needed as such.So do pls suggest me!!!!!Which one to select???

Hi Sanket!

The final choice is with you. You should enquire locally whether the coachings have good faculty, there is no coaching, which has good faculty at every center. If not, and you would depend only on course material and self study, I think you should go for Testfunda, the material is excellent, in your own words.

So, why wait. Go out find out from friends, how is such and such coaching at your place, and also enquire if the faculty is good in the area of your weakness, if you are good at quant, and the quant faculty is goog, would not help u much.

As implex had already mentioned , the option is in front of you , you can go for the classroom coaching but first enquire about it about the faculty etc..

and as you are already experienced with TF courseware, you knw its quality as well.

Analyse and then take a decision..
