    Post Question Of The Day (12-January-17)

    To have 2 identical parts with maximum surface area and maximum possible distance between two points selected, the plane needs to be cut the cube diagonally.

    Then for each, if the corner points are selected, Pythagoras can be applied, where :
    x= side of cube= 1cm
    y = diagonal on the cube face = sqrt(2) cm

    Therefore, opposite corner (p):

    p^2 = x^2 + y^2

    p= sqrt (3)

    Hence Answer is Option 3.
