dude...for IIFT papers, i guess the pt technique to handle DI would be to browse through the entire section....tryin to avoid all the questions based on "choosing a true or false statement"..particularly, if its a paper with "more than one correct answer".... next to to go for those questions where we hv to determine any particular value e.g....finding the highest average growth rate during the period 1999-2003.

Ideally, evry DI set havin 4 to 5 questions, does offer atleast 2-3 attemptable questions..... In d DI section if one cn attempt 45% of the questions correct ( keepin in mind that--dere cn b questions wid one or more correct answers)....it shud be enuff to get u thru

IIFT DI is considered a nightmare by students, I don't know why though, didn't take the test last year. But the test is very much data intensive, so you must be good at juggling numbers and staistical tables.

Logic based puzzles are lesser than that in CAT or XAT.

    good Luck

Regarding IIFT DI..one word...calculative...my tip will be go for LR section..it will fetch you more marks than DI int he same time as DI/LR are in same section only...rest you must be quite good in calculations adn numbers to crack IIFT DI...

Hi... I read somewhere that in IIFT, they do not disclose the sectional cut-offs. And anyone who has got the overall cut off gets a call even if the score in any particular section is as mimimal as "1" !!!!!! This is unless he/she does NOT get a zero or negative in any section.

Is is right ???? because if it is, then I think I can readily avoid doing many qusetions in DI and can maximize my score in other sections.

yeah generally this happens, but the thing is you dont really know what happens, they just tell the overall cutoff

The admission test for IIFT is a 2 hour multiple choice objective type written test which consists of questions of 200 marks. It covers English comprehension, General Knowledge and Awareness, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Analysis. In previous years, the test had 5 to 6 sections or subsections with differential marking for different sections and fractional marks. The marks per question for the General Knowledge and Awareness section were the minimum. The negative marks were in the range of -1/4 to -1/3. Best of luck for the test.
