Default [CAT 2011] The Official Verbal Ability thread

    Hello All

I am starting a new Verbal Ability (VA) thread for CAT2010. The aim behind it is to discuss everything under VA except the RCs.
Let us post every doubt related to VA that we have ever had, everything that we were afraid or should I say reluctant to ask.

    Rules of this thread

    1. Give a number to each question posted.

    2. While answering, give the question no. As far as possible, refrain from quoting the whole question.

    3. The official solution to a question should be posted, before proceeding to the next one.

    4. Dont post only for thanking someone. Instead, use the 'Thanks' button.

I hope everyone will adhere to the rules, and will keep the thread clean & legible, so that everyone benefits from it.

Come on guys, lets make it a success

    well...

it is given "More ancient Egyptian temples were constructed in the reign of Ramses II as in any other."

actully if we construct it into question it becomes "More ancient Egyptian temples were constructed in the reign of Ramses II than whom ?"

then the answer comes "than others"

so i think option D will be the answer .. not sure !!

well .. wat do u guys think about my logic ?

I just have the answer key with me but i'll try,

Q1. The question talks about heart patients & athletes' exercises. So, the first thing is that the correct sentence would have the word exercise used only once. We wont say heart patients exercises & athletes exercises. Only one option satisfies this criteria.

Q2. Here the no of temples are being compared. For comparison we always use 'than'. 'As' would used for drawing a similarity. It has a similar usage as like. And out of D & E, the latter is the better option.
