Post TestFunda Answers - Logical Reasoning

The meaning of this question is little complicated. In easy language the question should be:

There are some points in the plane. We have to make a separation between these points by forming a line in such a way that one point could be separate from the others. No 3 points are in a line. Maximum no of methods for plotting the line and minimum no of methods for plotting the line will be (arrangement of points is your choice)

    Now Answer Is:

For Maximize: The number of methods, Points should be drawn in the circumference of the CIRCLE So answer would be the number of total point in the plane.

For minimize: The number of methods we should draw 3 points in a TRIANGLE and all other point inside this triangle in such a way that no 3 points could be in a line.

If it will be allowed to draw the points in a line then minimum possibilities will be 2 only, because if we take all points in a line then you can separate only the corner points from the others.

    For example
If we have 10 points then maximum possibilities = 10
    and minimum = 3

    similarly for 5 points
    Max = 5, Min = 3

    for 15
    max= 15

    Using A: WII=45.5 and WI=44.5

Using B: Weight of Deepak = 70kg (Only after using

    statement A)

This is sufficient to find weight of Poonam using the

data given in the question statement. Hence option (3)

    is correct choice.

Alok and Bhanu play the following min-max game. Given the expression N=40+X+Y-Z, where X, Y and Z are variables representing single digits (0 to 9), Alok would like to maximize N while Bhanu would like to minimize it. Towards this end, Alok chooses a single digit number and Bhanu substitutes this for a variable of her choice (X, Y or Z). Alok then chooses the next value and Bhanu, the variable to substitute the value. Finally Alok proposes the value for the remaining variable. Assuming both play to their optimal strategies, the value of N at the end of the game would be

36 people {a1, a2, ..., a36} meet and shake hands in a circular fashion. In other words, there are totally 36 handshakes involving the pairs, {a1, a2}, {a2, a3}, ..., {a35, a36}, {a36, a1}.  Then size of the smallest set of people such that the rest have shaken hands with at least one person in the set is

Post TestFunda Answers - Logical Reasoning

Mr. Beans visited a magic shop and bought some magical marbles of different colours along with other magical items. While returning home whenever he saw a coloured light, he took out marbles of similar colours and counted them. So he counted the pink coloured marbles and found that he has bought 25 of them. Then he counted 14 green marbles and then 21 yellow marbles. He later counted 30 purple coloured marbles with him. But when he reached a crossing, he looked at a red light and started counting red marbles and found that he had bought 23 Red marbles. As soon as he finished counting, it started raining heavily and by the time he reached home he was drenched. After reaching home he found that the red, green and yellow marbles had magically changed colours and became white, while other marbles were unchanged. It will take 1 day to regain its colours, but he needs to give atleast one pair of marbles to his wife now. So how many white marbles must be choose and give to his wife so as to ensure that there is atleast one pair of red, yellow and green marbles ?

Since he has 60 white marbles now and wants to give his wife a pair of red, green and yellow marbles ( 2 nos each)
    he must choose 25+21+2 = 48 marbles.
    Option 4.

A racehorse starts chasing a wild pony 3 hours after the pony bolts the stable. The pony runs through the entire country of Alb.Texas jumping 3 streams and crossing four 10 meter roads. The racehorse finally catches up with the pony after four hours by the time the sun had set and the moon was up in the sky for 4 hours. If the average speed of the racehorse is 73kmph then average speed of the wild pony is----------kmph

Both travelled the same distance but race horse travelled the distance in 4 hrs while wild pony did it in 7 hrs.
So, average speed of pony = 73*3/7 = 41.71 kmph.
    Option d.

You can see that each one is shaking hands twice.
If we remove persons a3,a6,a9......a36, then each of remaining will shake hand with atleast one person.
So, size of set of people removed is 12.
    Option 3.

Post TestFunda Answers - Logical Reasoning

If alok chooses 7 , and if bhanu chooses variable Z for this value , then alok will choose 9 both for X and Y variables taking sum to 40+9+9-7 = 51.

If bhanu chooses either X or Y for 8(say X), then alok in second round will choose 4 which bhanu can substitute to either Y or Z, if Z is substituted then alok will choose 9 in third round taking sum to 52(40+7-4+9). But if bhanu substitute 4 to Y then alok will choose 0 for Z taking sum to 40+7+4-0 = 51.

Since all this is common knowledge, the optimum strategy is as follows.

           Alok proposes      Variable choosen
    I           7                          X,Y or Z
II step is conditional on I step as it is squential game ( drawing game tree and backward elimination of dominated strategy will solve this)
    If Z is choosen
    II        9                            X or Y
    III       9                            X or Y
If X is choosen in step I
    II        4                              Y
    III       0                              Z

Both solutions are sub-game perfect and solution is 51.

    Option 2.
