Post TestFunda Answers - Essay Writing

India is the world's largest democracy. We have a big mixture of people of different religion, caste, etc and all the policies, rules and regulations are made in such a way that no one's sentiments are hurt. We have kept all this in mind when we made our constitution around 50 years ago. But like all practical affairs, running a democracy let alone the biggest one is not a child's game. And we do not live by the book either.

Critics point out that Kasab, a terrorist who ran through innocent people like a madman, is still alive and we are spending crores on his security. He has many a time mocked the Indian judiciary. But we have still persisted with him. Is it because we are a soft nation?  I guess it is because we have our own set of values. We want to offer a fair trial to everyone. But the awefully long delay has very much questioned our ability.

There is a scene in a film Secret of Santa Vithoria. When the mayor of Santa Vithoria got very upset at people saying that he wasn't doing his job properly, he went up to his wife and said: " I have had enough. I 'll pick up a gun and shoot myself in the head." His wife promptly replied: "Why your head when your brain is somewhere else."

This is the same case with us. We have our own set of brutalities committed by our own politicians and police force and then again, our attitude towards outside terrorism, not forgetting our own Maoists, Naxals and other internal religion-based terror outfits. Out inability to arrest Dawood Ibrahim in Pakistan, our inability to tackle the Kandahar Plane Hijack Issue, bringing in USA as an unwanted big brother, the aweful time it took to catch Prabhakaran, Virappan etc. are questions we can't answer without a hiccup. Having said that, within months of 1961, 65, 71 and Kargil, this country was up on its feet, determined to fight terrorism.

We had United Liberation Front of Assom wreaking havoc in Assam but now ULFA has been on the run. Hundreds and hundreds of ultras have surrendered. Mizoram, a state badly affected by militancy, is today considered a near peaceful state. Our determination not to cross the LoC during Kargil war was not an indication our softness. It was a shrewd move. We diplomatically isolated Pakistan.

Then again, we enacted a series of special legislations to combat terrorism - MISA, DIA, DASCA, NSA and TADA. But all these were allowed to lapse. Due to several lacunae in our governance, our system of enforcing the rules of law suffered, amply indicating our softness in fighting terrorism.

There are things that we need to improve. There are places where we have done well.

It is upto us whether we want to be 'soft' or voice our concerns and get it implemented.

In the 1987 film Wallsteet, a millionaire bond trader said “Greed, for lack of a better word, is good. Greed is right. Greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures, the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge, has marked the upward surge of mankind and greed, you mark my words, will save the malfunctioning corporation called the U.S.A”. The character who spoke this was based off a man who was convicted of 98 counts of racketeering and fraud, so the question at hand is; is greed really good?

In a capitalist society, money is the best motivator. One will make a product, and improve it if it does not sell, in order to make money. The improvements here are considered progress. The desire for more money caused this progress. For example, most lifeguards are trained by the Red Cross, which is a non profit organization. Some say saving lives is enough to keep the Red Cross vigilant, but others disagree.

So much so that most of the land was owned by these aristocrats of the Roman Empire who lived in splendor while the rest of the citizenry struggled to eke out a living. The poor rallied behind Tiberius Gracchus, an aristocrat and champion who sympathized with their situation, to end the greedy landgrabbing that the aristocrats continually sought after. His success was shortlived after he used some rather illegal means (ironic considering that Tiberius used greed to quickly pass it through evasion of the law) to get the agrarian laws that limited the amount of land any one person could own to pass into effect. He was sought after and killed after his term expired and his brother, Gaius, stepped in. He too was killed and the greedy aristocrats reversed the laws that Tiberius and Gaius put into effect. Both sides used greed, one individual (Tiberius' haste in passing the much-needed reforms, outlook not good) and a group (landgrabbing aristocrats fared much better) but the group's greediness didnt help the progression of mankind, rather, it seems to have went out of control. Greed works (consider the self-interest in the United States, lots of individual greed there) but it is limited so that it doesnt infringe on other people's liberties. But it doesnt work in all cases, especially the extreme case mentioned above.

For employers and entrepreneurs greed is an essential. They require that their workers and employees have enough desire to keep their job and the money that they deserve. How much money they deserve is based off the strength of their work, and their progress towards the improvement of the product, or costumer satisfaction.

Black-and-white, often abbreviated B/W or B&W, is a term referring to a number of monochrome forms in visual arts.
Black-and-white as a description is also something of a misnomer, for in addition to black and white, most of these media included varying shades of gray. Further, many prints, especially those produced earlier in the development of photography, were in sepia (mainly to provide archival stability), which gave a richer, more subtle shading than reproductions in plain black-and-white, although less so than color.

Black & White is a 2001 video game developed by Lionhead Studios and published by Electronic Arts and Feral Interactive for Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh. A god game, it includes elements of artificial life, strategy, and fighting games.

The statesman who should attempt to direct private in what manner they ought to employ their capital whould not load himself with the most unnecessery attention but assume an authority which could safely be trusted to no council or senate whatever, and which would nowhere be so dangerous in hand of man who had folly and presumption enough to fancy himself fit to exercise it.
Additional Notes: this topic given in previous year XAT so what we need to right plz tell me...
